Pobitora Wildlife Sanctuary is a renowned wildlife sanctuary in Morigaon district, Assam. It is famous for having one of the highest densities of the Indian one-horned rhinoceros and is a popular destination for wildlife lovers and birdwatchers.

History

Pobitora was declared a Wildlife Sanctuary in 1987 to protect the one-horned rhinoceros and its wetland ecosystem. It is now one of Assam's major wildlife attractions.
