WildlifeKaziranga National Park is a UNESCO World Heritage Site located in the heart of Assam. Famous for its population of the endangered one-horned rhinoceros, the park is home to a rich variety of wildlife including Bengal tigers, Asian elephants, wild water buffaloes, swamp deer, and hundreds of bird species. Spread across lush grasslands, wetlands, and forests, Kaziranga is one of India's most celebrated wildlife destinations and attracts nature lovers from around the world.
Kaziranga was established as a Reserved Forest in 1908 after the population of one-horned rhinoceroses declined significantly. It became a National Park in 1974 and was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1985 for its exceptional biodiversity and successful wildlife conservation efforts.
